Image converter
Turn pictures into JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO or SVG. Add up to 10 at once, in any mix of formats. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Add your pictures, up to 10.
- Choose the format in Convert to.
- For a JPG that must stay small, tick the size box and type a number such as 50.
- Press Convert images, rename any file if you like, then save each one or all as a ZIP.
Which format?
| Format | Transparency | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| JPG / JPEG | No, filled white | Photos, forms, email. Same format, two spellings. |
| PNG | Yes | Logos, screenshots, text. Lossless, larger files. |
| WebP | Yes | Websites. Small files. |
| GIF | No, filled white | Simple graphics. Limited to 256 colors, so photos look rough. One still frame. |
| BMP | No, filled white | Old Windows programs. Uncompressed, so files are large. |
| TIFF | No, filled white | Print shops and scanners. Uncompressed and large. |
| ICO | Yes | Favicons and app icons. Scaled to fit 256 px. |
| SVG | Yes | Uploads that only accept .svg. Your picture is wrapped inside the file, not traced into vector shapes. |
Good to know
- Pictures keep their width and height, except ICO and a JPG with a size limit, which may be scaled down. Anything over 8192 px on the long side is scaled down to keep the page stable.
- A size limit lowers JPG quality first and shrinks the picture only if it must.
- HEIC and TIFF files cannot be opened here, because browsers do not read them. TIFF output works.
- AVIF appears in the list only if your browser can write it.
